I often come across beautiful souls who continuously marvel at how it is that prayers are replied to; how impatient they become and think about how long it will take for prayers to be answered; and whether their prayers will be answered at all.

We all seek clues and look for confirmation, usually for inklings that the Earth has shifted in the ways we expected it to shift. When nothing seems to alter in front of our eyes – or worse, when unexpected incidents transpire – we either doubt the wisdom of the creator or notify ourselves that praying is of no help. Nonetheless, prayers are answered instantly. That we do not see how is of no importance to heaven. 

Events may unravel that, at the moment blow us as catastrophic. Heaven plays the long game. And – though this is difficult to comprehend – our happiness is not a divine preference. While it is of incredible interest to us, the value of the divine domain is directed toward carrying us into a state of conscious equilibrium, health, and awareness of the integrity of our efforts and preferences. Happiness is the end outcome of those characteristics of the soul. 

Trust the divine and say the simple yet the most powerful prayer, “Dear Lord, step forward and take control. I cannot find my way.”
